The Louisville, KY concert was
INCREDIBLE! One of the best I've ever been to! I went to Jillians two hours
before the doors opened and there was already a decent line! In about a half an
hour the line was out the door and round the building! Greenwheel was the
opening band, and sadly the night before they had gotten broken into and got all
of their guitars stolen. OLP was nice enough to lend them their guitars for the
concert. The venue was pretty small, so we were all packed in tight, just the
way I like it!! Unfortuneately I was next to some claustrophobic girl who
seriously went nuts and was about to start beating up anyone who touched her,
but and she even sat down during the Greenwheel concert! But she left right
after Greenwheel which made everyone around her happy! The girls in front of me
were really cool, and everyone was sooo into it from the beginning. There were
tons of body surfers for Greenwheel (who by the way performed AWESOME especially
under the circumstances) and when OLP came on, the place went absoluetly
balistic! The played sooo amazing and were so into it, and the crowd was
singing so loudly to every single song, it was Amazing! Raine even said, "Wow,
we didn't expect this! Thank you." Steve seemed to be having some problems with
his guitar at the beginning and even had to go off stage for a bit to fix it but
it was fine for the rest of the concert. I got the setlist at the end but OLP
changed some of it during to concert, so I'll put the changes in: All For You,
Do You Like It, Superman, Naveed (with Life interlude), Not Enough, Bring Back
the Sun, Innocent (which he had to crowd sing most of it like 4 am), Story About
a Girl, Army, Whatever, Is Anybody Home, Mafia, Birdman, Clumsy, Starseed.
Encore: In Repair, Somewhere Out There, Stealing Babies!!! (thanks to the girls
in front of me who had requested it earlier when they had met them!), and 4 am.
They took out Are You Sad and (unfortuneately!) Neon Crossing for Story About a
Girl and Stealing Babies. During Birdman Raine climbed the speakers and was
hanging on some pipes on the ceiling, it was sooo incredible. Then near the end
of the song he jumped from the speakers, over some equipment and onto the
stage! I couldn't even make the jump without hurting myself! Then during
Starseed I believe he kind of climbed into the crowd a little and let everyone
like grab him and his hair, it was sooo freaking cool. I had an amazing time,
and afterwards I waited with my dogs cuz I had to bring them since I was
traveling a lot that weekend and with my boyfriend to meet them in the freaking
cold! Even though it's two hours to home and my poor boyfriend had to wake up
at 6 am today, I HAD to meet them because I had made them some presents, little
goody bags with Chinese treats on it and decorations on the bag pertaining to
OLP that took me many painstaking hours to do!!!! Unfortuneatly Raine and
Duncan didn't come out to meet the fans cuz they were tired I guess, I was
really really disappointed because I wanted to give it to them personally and
meet them a little (I've met them before but very briefly), but Jeremey was nice
enough to tell me that they weren't come out and offered to take the presents to
them! Jeremey and Steve were super nice even though at first I could barely
talk to them because I was so nervous, and I think I forced a hug out of
Jeremey! LOL, oops. Anyways, I also met Mike, but it was after I gave Jeremey
all the presents because I didn't think I'd see Mike but he ended up coming out
and so I talked to him a bit. I ended up talking to one of the Roadies who I
ALWAYS see at their concerts and I always notice him cuz he reminds me of one
of my friends, he was really nice and it was cool to finally meet him. He's
very much part of OLP to me! Anyways, I asked him how OLP got to opening for
Creed (I was very curious cuz I'm not a huge Creed fan), and he said that OLP
opened for them for Happiness and Creed really liked them and that they were
good friends and golfed together or something, so that made me feel better. I
was hoping OLP didn't think they needed to open for anybody!! Anyways, then I
got to talk to Steve for a while and he is such a sweetheart I can't stand it!
Oh, and Rich and Shelley, you'll like this, I was talking about my dogs and
about how OLP was their favorite band too, but maybe only because that's all
they got to listen to and all they watched on TV now-a-days was the OLP
Compliation Set, and Steve was like, oh, is that from Rich and Shelley's
website? I really like that website, it's one of the best OLP sites out there,
I actually visit it regularly! It has really good up-to-date news. So anyways,
the night was Awesome, except for not meeting Duncan and Raine, I was super
disappointed, I really spent a lot of time on those bags and had wanted to give
it to them. But it's ok, I understand they have to do that stuff almost every
night so it must get old. They'd better come back soon!!!! I hope they liked
their presents! (Yes I'm wayyy past obsessed here!)
