Ok, just got back from my trip to Peoria. Here is
the set list in order:
All For You, Do You Like It?, Superman's Dead, Naveed/Life, Not Enough,
Bring Back the Sun, Innocent, Mafia, Whatever, Is Anybody Home?, Clumsy, The
Birdman, STEALING BABIES, Starseed; Encore: In Repair, Somewhere Out There,
4AM.
Interesting show. Of course I enjoyed myself (it WAS an OLP show) but I did
not enjoy this show as much as all of the other shows I've seen on this tour
because I was next to some idiots in the crowd for the first 5 songs or so.
Once I got away from the 6 feet tall, 200+ pound drunk hockey player
frat-boy know it all jerk off, things got better for me. I was still near
the front for the entire show, just not the very front against the rail.
OMA was absent from the set list for the first time in a while. That was a
bit odd, but maybe this was because there wasn't really anything for Raine
to climb on. Who knows. Stealing Babies was a treat and basically a
surprise. Most of the crowd had no idea what song it was except for a few
of the OLP faithful, yours truly included. The Birdman was awesome as
usual. I've gotten used to this being sort of a showcase for the band to
just rock out with reckless abandon, but it was still so awesome and quite
the spectacle. I never tire of watching them do this song live. So
powerful. I have chills just thinking about it.
When they went to close out the set with Starseed, Raine brought out the
lead singer of Greenwheel to sing with him. Raine seemed really excited as
evidenced by his huge smile when he brought him out. It added a little bit
of energy to the song (not that it usually lacks any).
Most of the crowd messed up the lyrics to IAH as usual. One of these days
an audience will get it right and not just a few individuals. We got a
brief intro to Whatever about Chris Benoit. Good sing along to 4AM...it
sounded great.
There were 2 opening bands...Greenwheel and some band named Mesa who looked
like they were still in high school.
