I'm from around vancouver, and with the new songs that steve has been working
on decided to make the 7 hour drive to eugene,it totally surprised me how small
the venue was, i was expecting small , but this was like having your own private
show with a few hundred of your friends.I got there around 4:00 and hung out and
listened to the soundcheck outside with a few people that id met in portland
earlier in the year. After 4 hours of standing around and freezing our asses off
it was finally time for fingertight.First of all everyone else is voicing their
opinion so i guess i will too. I have to disagree with josh and kira , I was
standing right beside Jason and fingertight's show was amazing especially
considering the guitar problems they had at the beginning of the show. They put
out so much energy and I loved the singers voice. After what seemed forever olp
finally made their way on stage.Their set began like most shows this year and
then the mystery song, i saw it on the setlist and the words taped to the floor
but didnt know if it was a cover or one of the new songs that raine was talkn
about. It definetelly turned out to be one of the new songs, id describe it as
harder than gravity but not quite as hard as whatever. After that they went into
innocent, birdman(awsome solo by steve, different than the one he did in portland
and seattle), clumsy and then instead of playing are you sad which was on the
setlist they played stealing babies which was incredible, but the highlight of
the night was opening the encore with wonderful future. Its probably my favorite
song of off spiritual machines and it was finally nice to see it played
live. After the show i got a pick from steve and steve's set list.We then waited
outside where jeremy signed my setlist and sot single and was very talkitive as
usual. The show was over at just after 11 but the rest of the band never came out
untill after 12:30 and alot of encouragement from Jeremy. After they did however
they were very nice and willing to sign everything i had as well as take
pictures with me and the 15 or so people that was left waiting. And as steve was
getting on the tour bus to leave i asked him if anything was confermed for a
canadian tour and he said that they are beginning in kelowna on the 24th of
january and playing vancouver on the 25th or 27th. It was already 1:00 in the
morning and were in a hurry to leave so i never was able to get the rest of the
tour info.
