Fingertight's singer was extremely creepy, vulgar, and definitely on something.
During one song he licked his freaking microphone, and he could barely get from
one song to the next without swearing in between. Fingertight's balance was
poor, the bass was way too loud, and in the first song they had technical
difficulties with the guitar. This was pretty cool, though, because while the
guitar player was working on getting his equipment working again, they did a
drum and bass jam, and the singer made up lyrics on the spot, which were began
with something like, "We're in Eugene, Oregon/And we're having technical
difficulties." The Technical Difficulties Song was definitely the highlight of
Fingertight's performance.
Raine talked and interacted with the audience more than at the last OLP concert
I went to. He gave a long introduction to Bring Back the Sun instead of
Whatever. After Whatever, they played a new song called Our Time Is Fading,
which was very cool to see. Raine did something interesting with Is Anybody
Home? After the new intro, he sang the lyrics "Goodbye, the future sold out,
there's no use screaming / who thought we'd ever get this far" half the speed
they're normally sung, while the guitar part was played twice at the regular
speed. The Wonderful Future is as beautiful live as it is in the studio, and I'm
very excited to see that they're playing that song live. The concert was overall
very good, and I thought the crowd seemed to be interested in the music without
a lot of moshing or crowd surfing, which I thought was good.
