Clarion University of Pennsylvania - Clarion,

I attended the Our Lady Peace concert on Friday
Nov.18, 2005 @ Clarion University with my wife and one of our friends. This show
was probably their best performance I've seen so far (this is our 3rd OLP Show
since September). The trip seemed to take forever (even though it was only 1 1/2
hours) and I passed the exit on the first attempt. We arrived at the campus and
saw the line, it wasn't too long. It was COLD, COLD, COLD out there in
Clarion!!! We passed through security and made our way into the auditorium...we
were right in front of where Steve plays. This seems to be the spot we wind up
in because it was getting very crowded and we were lucky to be where we were.
After a short wait, Theory of A Dead Man came on. They were Awesome! I'm only
familiar with their material from "Gasoline" seeing that I have the record. They
played a 45 minute set which ended with "No Suprise" which everyone knew and was
singing along to. Our friend got the guitar pick at the end of their set.
OLP came on about 30 minutes later and let me tell you, we were packed in like
sardines. The show was probably not sold out, but my wife and I were squished
together and I was violated from behind. Everyone wanted to be as close as
possible. OLP was amazing this time around. To be honest, I was worried they
would play a short set since the show was at a college, but they played 18 great
songs (they played 19 the last time we saw them in Cleveland in October). They
started off with "Picture" and then went right into "Is Anybody Home?", which
they haven't done live in the past 5 times I've seen them. They then went into
"Innocent" and a extended version of "Car Crash,"which I've never seen performed
live before. Lots of energy!!! The rest of the set included songs such as
"Clumsy,""Wipe That Smile..." where Raine sang 'wipe that smile off those
f*****g politicians faces.' OLP then played "In Repair" which was received well
and they played "Boy" and sang a couple of lines from "Life" at the end. I went
crazy, seeing that it is my favorite OLP song. They have never played "Life"
before either in the 7 times I've seen them. It was enough to satisfy me. Also,
they played "Love and Trust" and "Walking In Circles" which they did on the 3
Doors Down tour as a demo. They ended with "Superman's Dead" before coming back
for an encore. Their encore consisted of "4 AM," which the crowd sung,
"Starseed," "Somewhere Out There," (which everyone knew) and "Naveed." To be
honest, I don't like when they end the show with "Naveed." This show and the
Cleveland show both ended with "Naveed" and there is lots of just time with
music and the crowd seems to loose their energy. They don't end every show this
way, but I wish they closed with "Superman's Dead" or "Is Anybody Home?" No
complaints though about the show. OLP gave an A+ performance and the best yet
this year!
