The concert started off with a spotlight on Duncan
while he played the opening riff to Naveed. Next up was Superman's Dead in which
the band stopped before the last chorus to get the crowd going (although they
didn't need much encouragement). After playing a few newer songs like
Angels/Losing/Sleep, the band went "old school" and played Hope which has, if
possible, even more energy when played on stage. They then went into what Raine
described as "a song that didn't make it onto an album but was on some bulls***
greatest hits record our production company came out with," Kiss On The Mouth
and two new songs: The Right Stuff and White Flag. Both were excellent. I don't
think OLP fans will be disappointed with the new album. We were also told that
they had spent the summer finishing off the new album. Hopefully we'll get to
hear it sometime soon. Wipe That Smile Off Your Face had Raine talking about the
upcoming election in October and encouraging everyone to vote. The entire set
was filled with energy and had the crowd on their feet and singing along. When
they went off the stage there was no question if there would be an encore. They
started again with 4am in which Raine went into the crowd and had them sing the
choruses to the song. It was amazing. The show ended with a bang with Starseed.
To quote Raine again, "We had planned on doing a few small shows to get used to
playing together again but this here, this is the real thing."
