The following was taken from Winnipeg's Free Press on Wed, Jul 25, 2001:

Prestige for local films

Three Manitoba-made films have been accepted into this fall's Toronto International Film Festival. One feature --Inertia, from Winnipeg writer/director Sean Garrity -- and two shorts -- deco dawson's experimental FILM(dzama), and Cordell Barker's animated Strange Invaders -- will be part of Perspectives Canada, the festival's showcase of Canadian film.  Inertia, an "anti-romantic comedy," was shot in and around Winnipeg earlier this year. Fifty-seven films were chosen from 529 submissions for Perspectives Canada. Twelve of those submissions were made by Manitobans.  Former Winnipeg singer Chantal Kreviazuk will be seen in her film debut as part of Perspectives Canada, as well. Century Hotel, a Toronto-made film that features Kreviazuk alongside her husband, Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida, will premiere at the festival. The Toronto International Film Festival is regarded as second only to Cannes in terms of size and prestige. It runs Sept. 6 to 15.   Thanks to CLUMSY17 for the article.

June 27, 2001

Our Lady Peace rocked the Metro in Chicago last night!  Jack (a fellow fan - Thanks Jack!) spoke to a Cutty Shark Rep before the show and they mentioned it would be recorded.  He then further clarified by hearing the following from Raine after the show, "It would probably come out sometime in the fall, and at least some of the tracks from tonight’s show would be released"

So it looks like they are getting the best from some shows, and preparing a Live CD for release as early as the fall!  Public release?  Fan club treat?  Who knows....we'll have to wait and see!  The set list was as follows,  Middle of Yesterday, Right Behind You, Automatic Flowers, Superman's Dead, Car Crash, Are You Sad, If You Believe, In Repair, Is Anybody Home, Clumsy, One Man Army, Whatever, Everyone’s A Junkie, Life, Encore - 4 am, Julia, Starseed.

June 24, 2001

First of all we want to apologize for the confusion, we were confused ourselves.  We should have looked closer at the venues before posting them on our site because we already had all the September dates listed as taking place in July on our tour info details page.

As for the August 9th show in San Francisco, CA and August 12th show in Las Vegas, NV, these could be correct but we have been unable to find any confirmation of these dates on the venue's websites. Please let us know if you have any info on these shows.

According to Ticketmaster and various venue websites, here is what the September dates should have been listed as on OLP.com:

July 24, 2001 Hampton Beach Casino Hampton Beach, NH, USA
July 25, 2001 Tweeter Center (Y100 Feztival 2001) in Camden, NJ NOT Philadelphia, PA, USA
July 27, 2001 Webster Theatre Hartford, CT, USA
July 28, 2001 State Theatre Portland, ME, USA
July 29, 2001 Lupo's Providence, RI, USA

June 23, 2001
According to OLP.com, OLP have rescheduled some previously cancelled shows.  Check them out below (even though they are listed as August and September...we think that a typing error may have been made on OLP's website.  Some of the venues have OLP listed as playing in July not September. We are waiting for confirmation from either OLP.com or one of the OLP mailing lists before changing them here. So please note these are not confirmed dates.  We will keep you posted as we hear more about this.)

August 9, 2001 Slim's San Francisco, CA, USA
August 12, 2001 The Joint Las Vegas, NV, USA
September 24, 2001 Hampton Beach Casino Hampton Beach, NH, USA
September 25, 2001 Tweeter Center Philedelphia, PA, USA
September 27, 2001 Webster Theatre Hartford, CT, USA
September 28, 2001 State Theatre Portland, ME, USA
September 29, 2001 Lupo's Providence, RI, USA

Thanks to superrgirll on the CC for the info and Rick for pointing it out to us.

June 17, 2001 (Evening)

There is some confusion regarding the Las Vegas, Nevada show on July 12 as Ticketmaster states that OLP are playing at both the House of Blues and at the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel.  We have looked into this matter further and have discovered that OLP must be playing at the House of Blues because their site has OLP listed in the events calendar while the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel site does not.  If you have heard anything different or know more about this, please let us know.

June 17, 2001 (Afternoon)

For all of you Buffalo fans that have lost hope that OLP will be playing at Artpark this summer, there is still a chance.  In Friday's edition of the Buffalo News, the following statement was found:  "Among the other acts being considered for Artpark, Scher said, include Lowest of the Low, Our Lady Peace and an all-star doo-wop concert featuring Johnny Maestro and the Platters. I think Artpark is really a gem; it's a very special place and we want to do more at that facility," Scher said. Metropolitan started booking Artpark last year, and has been trying to tackle the problem of finding acts to fit the niche of the 4,300-seat venue."  Thanks to grubm for the email.

If you haven't already read the Yahoo chatscript mentioned in yesterday's news, we have the latest scoop on OLP's tour schedule.  According to Jero, "the current US tour will bring them to about the middle of July, and after that, they have a committment to go to Europe and possibly Japan. Then he said there is more touring that they have to do in America as there is so many places they haven't played yet.  As for their Canadian tour, they are currently planning shows late in the year, hopefully by the end of 2001."

Head to the House of Blues today at 3 pm EST for a Webcast of the New Orleans show that was recorded on  April 5.

Another tour date has been confirmed!  OLP will be performing in Plainview, NY at The Vanderbilt.  For more details, see our tour info page.  This was originally rumoured as a date for a show at the Flynn Theatre in Burlington, VT.  Thanks to Matt for clearing this up for us.

"Spiritual Machines" was recently reviewed in the April edition of Tower Record's Pulse magazine (see our articles section to read the review) and in the current issue of Rolling Stone.  Unfortunately Pulse gave the CD 2/5 and although Rolling Stone gave some praise to the CD, they only gave it 3/5.  Thanks to Thomas for the scan of the Pulse article and Believer for the Rolling Stone info.

Are you as upset as we are at the terrible, uneducated review by "Colin Devenish" of Tower Records Pulse magazine?  Why is it that other countries such as the UK can look beyond typical commercial comparisons and stereotypes and see OLP for the talented musicians they are?  Yet in North America journalists seem to miss the boat? We realize not everyone is going to Love the music of OLP like we all do, but when reviews are written such as this Colin publishes labelling them as a "watered-down Matchbox 20", we cringe in disgust.  We are asking "you the fan" to write an email to Pulse and voice your review of this Colin character.  Lets give them a wake up call!  (Be sure to include that you read the article in Pulse Mag written by Colin Devenish.)

May 2, 2001 (Evening)

If anyone knows the setlist from the Buffalo show on Monday and could email it to us, it would be greatly appreciated.

May 1, 2001 (Evening)

Last night OLP played at the U of B in Buffalo, NY and we were lucky enough to attend.  Before the show, the band was kind enough to take time out of their busy schedule to talk to some street team winners  in an intimate meet and greet.  Their performance was great and the crowd did a lot of singing.  During the show, Raine said that his throat was bothering him and he was ready to go home after the second song but the crowd kept him going.  After the show, we found out that they were having some techincal difficulties (ie:  Duncan couldn't hear anything) which we didn't even notice from where we were sitting/standing.  We hope to get our pics developed soon and if they turn out we will be posting them on our site.

The following taken from olp.com:  Here's the transcript of a recent MTV Music News Brief from
