Somewhere Out There (4:11)
Music and Lyrics by R. Maida
Published by Under Zenith Publishing

Produced by Bob Rock
Mixed by Randy Staub
String Arrangement by Bob Buckley and Jamie Edwards
Mastered by George Marino

New Album June 2002

The lyrics are printed as follows,

Last time I talked to you
You were lonely and out of place
You were looking down on me
Lost out in space

We laid underneath the stars
Strung out and feeling brave
I watched the red orange glow
I watched you float away

Down here in the atmosphere
Garbage and city lights
You've gone to save your tired soul
You've gone to save our lives

I turned on the radio
To find you on satellite
I'm waiting for this sky to fall
I'm waiting for a sign

All we are
Is all so far

You're falling back to me
You're a star that I can see
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there

Hope you remember me
When you're home sick and need a change
I miss your purple hair
I miss the way you taste
I know you'll come back someday
On a bed of nails I'll wait
I'm praying that you don't burn out
Or fade away

All we are
Is all so far

You're falling back to me
You're a star that I can see

I know you're out there
Somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me
You're a star that I can see

I know you're out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me
You're a star that I can see

I know you're out there
Somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me

I know
I know

You're falling out of reach

I know

It didn't take long for another version of "Somewhere Out There" to spring up on the net.  Although you won't see mp3's posted on our site due to conversations with a Sony employee and Mike Turner, we know that everyone here who will download this song is positively going to purchase their CD, and you already have the 89x version.  Thanks to Chrisguy for setting this up for everyone and sending us the link, it has some static, but is in stereo and once the song picks up you'll forget the static.  Chrisguy's Page

We have restored our Fan Photos section (see button on the left menu) back to as they were before the creation of the Fan Gallery.  We thank Tom and Jen for all their effort and ideas, however due to the recent loss of information, it would be too much to restore.  This section is now severely out of date (Jan 2000), so if you previously submitted photos to the section and they are now missing, or want to submit your photos with the band now, email us!

March 17, 2002 (Morning)

March 15, 2002 (Evening)
Here we are, less than a day from our post announcing the new single, and it has been aired already!  89x aired the song at 5pm.  Unfortunately we were not home to hear it ourselves, but other fans are reporting to us via email, and on the CC that it is a great song and a departure from their old music.  Apparently Raine even keeps his voice from reaching his normal high octaves throughout the entire song.  Thanks to Jeff and 123OLPGREAT (may be the same person?) for the news and the following lyrics,

Somewhere Out There

Last time I talked to you
you were lonely and out of place
you were looking down on me, lost out in space
laid underneath the stars
strung out and feeling brave
Watch the red orange glow

March 15, 2002 (Morning)
Just in from a reliable source!  Our Lady Peace's first single off their upcoming release will be named "Somewhere Out There."  This song will start surfacing on radio this upcoming week, and will be featured on the Spiderman soundtrack!  Big thanks to OLPdude for the news!

March 14, 2002
Rumours are floating around the Clumsy Congress that Edge102 announced that the new OLP CD will be out by the end of May and we should expect the first single early April.  This information has not yet been confirmed.  Thanks to Rob for forwarding us the news.

March 11, 2002
Fellow fan Cristina has asked us to help her make a plea to Much Music USA regarding their recent format changes due to their change of ownership.  The format changes being made will eliminate such segments as
Much on Demand, Ed's Big Wham Bam, Go the Flow, and Combat Zone.  As you all know these segments are known to feature OLP from time to time.  And most importantly the new format plays only American top 40, which may also reduce the exposure of OLP.  If you would like to make comments to Much on how you feel about this, drop an email here: mmcomments@rainbow-media.com.

March 10, 2002
We are going to utilize our website to send out a message to someoneAttention Marc: We have been trying to forward the Video Compilation info you requested.  However, your emails are bouncing back.  If you have another email address you can send to us, please do.  Thanks.

March 7, 2002

Drop by the Men Without Brooms website, and click on Multimedia, to watch a trailer that ends off with "Life" as the background music.  Thanks to mafiaseed on the CC for the news.

March 2, 2002 (Afternoon)
What is happening to OLP's online communities???  Mailing List, Fan Club, Street Team, all shutdown.  Is Clumsy Congress next on the chopping block?  The reason we ask this question, is that our good friend Stace was just let go from Sony Music Canada.  We wish her well, and know with all her skills that she will easily find further employment.  You all know her from Clumsy Congress, the online contests, irc chat, and virtually anything else that combines OLP with the web.  Who will now manage Sony's online contests, and run all the message boardsNobody knows?

February 22, 2002
Drop by Lifenetwork.com for a contest that will give you the chance to see 3 Mystery Canadian Bands, in 3 Secret Canadian Cities.  Our Lady Peace maybe?  All winners will also receive a copy of the Men With Brooms Soundtrack that features "Life".  Kudos to Rob for the link!

February 18, 2002
Thanks to Christine for the heads up for this just in from Ourladypeace.com,

“The members of Our Lady Peace are launching a national search for a new guitarist. Longtime bandmate Mike Turner separated from Our Lady Peace in December 2001. If you think you have what it takes to join the ranks of one of Canada’s top rock bands, please send in a 3-4 minute video tape featuring at most two minutes of your best guitar work and one minute containing a brief interview and/or description of yourself to: Our Lady Peace - Guitar Search 1121 Leslie Street, Toronto ON M3C 2J9. Submissions must be received by March 31, 2002 for consideration. Our Lady Peace are currently in Vancouver mixing tracks for their fifth album with producer Bob Rock. The band’s new release is still untitled and will be released sometime during 2002.”

More on the guitarist search can be read at Chartattack, MuchMusic, and Canoe.  Thanks to Hooper for the links!

February 12, 2002
Sorry about our downtime the last 2 weeks.  Due to a recent hacker that invaded the company that hosts our website, we lost our entire website.  Full restoration is impossible, and what we can restore will take some time.  We only have old backups on our own pc, the hosting service has no backup at all!   So most info on this site will be either old, or broken.  We recommend staying away from Readyhosting (not going to honour them with a link), as their participation and support is non existent.

In regards to the future of ourladypeace.cc....we are not sure.  We are going to continue with a website in one form or another....exactly what, is still being decided.  Ideas anyone?

February 8, 2002
