September 30, 2002 (Evening)
It turns out at least 300 emails were sent to a radio station requesting "Innocent" in the one day!  Great job everyone!  Therefore, Ryan is planning on still choosing some winners of Contest 9 afterall.  Stay tuned for more details on a new version of Contest 9.

Check out our new "Feature Wallpapers" as submitted to us by the creative Linda.  Thanks again Linda!

More details on the Sweden concert just in from the OMA: "Lookout Sweden, here come Our Lady Peace. The band are set to perform live on November 4th of 2002 in Stockholm. The venue is called Klubben (how appropriate) and tickets go on sale on 10/4/02. Should you be in the neighbourhood, check out TICNET or ph: 077.170.70.70"  Thanks to Kris for the news.

Check out this cool advertisement found at the UK HMV recommending OLP (although they plugged "Innocence" as the latest single).  Thanks to Susie for the scan.

September 30, 2002 (Later Morning)

If you haven't seen the video for Innocent yet, you might want to head over to videopimp and check it out. Thanks to Rob for the link.

September 30, 2002 (Morning)
We apologize to all that have received harsh email reply's from the Radio Station we were "Raiding" in the recent contest.  We have closed the contest for the time being, and will come up with an alternative.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I think we underestimated the power of the OLP Army!

Special thanks to Carla for contributing the idea for this edition of "This Week in Our Lady Peace History." On September 21st "Happiness... Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch" was released in Canada and September 28th in the USA.

Read Kathy's review of the St Louis, Mo show on Sept 25 and Stacy's review of the Pelham, AL show on Sept 24. Thanks to Kathy and Stacy for sharing their experiences with us.

Check out some photos of OLP's show in Columbia, SC on September 20 from 93.5's website. Thanks to Kasey for sending them our way.

Check out the newly added photos of Our Lady Peace on Katrillion.com.  Thanks to Christal for the link.

Rumour has it that 30 Seconds To Mars may open for OLP at the Buffalo show.  If they do, we are not sure if Fingertight and Juliana Theory will also be playing.  Thanks to Reena for the rumour.

September 28, 2002

Check out the setlist from Thursday's show in Kansas City, MO.  Thanks to Serena and Jennifer for sending it our way.

This Saturday on "ESPN's College Gameday", a nationally televised (US) college football pregame show, highlight clips from throughout the season were shown.  During the opening of the show, "Made Of Steel"  was played. Many times the music corresponded with the highlights.  Example: "They knock you down." Parts of the song were cut to fit the allotted time.  Thanks to Jason and Beamer for the info.

Check out this setlist and these photos from the April 21, 2000 concert in Charleston, South Carolina.  Thanks to Stacy for sharing.  Also check out this review and these photos from the September 20, 2002 concert in Columbia, South Carolina.  Thanks to Kasey for sharing.  A Stacy and a Kasey both from South Carolina submitting photos, what a coincidence!  :)

Drop by our Wallpaper section (now split in two) for a new addition.  Thanks to Mana for sharing.

September 27, 2002 (Later Morning)
OLP played a private acoustic performance at a radio station in Kansas City, MO yesterday before their show last night.  Fortunately, Aaron was able to meet the guys and ask a few questions that he has been wanting to ask for quite a while now. He asked about the three songs that didn't make it onto "Gravity" and about older unreleased songs like the one that didn't make it on "Happiness..." as well as songs like "Trapeze," "Sleeping In," "Ordinary Day" and "Home."  In response, Raine said "these things have a way of eventually finding their way out...and we are actually talking about finishing one of the three songs (one of the ones that didn't make it onto "Gravity")  for the upcoming "DareDevil" Movie soundtrack (it's that comic book movie due out on February 14, 2003 with Ben Affleck).  The three songs that were left off were a lot harder edged, similar to "Whatever," and really didn't fit on the record."  In regards to "Trapeze," Raine and Jeremy said, "That song is getting pretty old...so I don't know...."  Raine finished by saying, "we've been talking about possibly releasing something through the fanclub in the future."  Thanks to Aaron for passing along this interesting info to us.

Special thanks to Rob for providing us with a screen capture from "Innocent" for our videography page

September 27, 2002 (Morning)
Don't forget to set those VCRs!!! Muchmusic features "On Set with OLP" today at 4 pm EST.

Read some reviews and view a setlist from a couple of OLP's recent shows in the United States. Thanks to PJ and Chris for their reviews of the Pelham, AL show, Ben John's friend Ken and Mai for their reviews of the St Louis, MO show, as well as Rocke and John's friend Ken for the setlist from the St Louis, MO show.

September 26, 2002 (Later Evening)
Check out some clips of the new "Innocent" video.  One from Muchmusic and another from Musiqueplus.  Unfortuantely our computer has been acting up and we haven't been able to get a screen capture of the video for our videography page.  If anyone is able to get one and send it to us, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks to Daniel, Kris, Nadine and Starseed for the links.

While you are visiting Muchmusic, check out the OLP section, it has now been updated.  Thanks to Kris and Nadine for the info.

According to an article posted on the MTV site about the Billboard's Top Album Chart, Gravity is moving back up on the charts. Here is what it had to say: "
With the band on a U.S. tour through October 24, Our Lady Peace's Gravity makes a mighty chart leap from #70 to #51 after seeing an increase in weekly sales of more than 3,000 copies."  Thanks to Brandon, Kyle and John for the great news.

To see how OLP are doing on a few other charts, click here.

According to Rich, OLP have not been getting much airplay in Chicago.  Only recently has "Innocent" been added to Q101's Top 9 at 9 playlist and they need our votes to stay on this list.  The bands that get the most votes (whether they actually make it into the top nine or not) remain on the stations playlist. In the past, OLP have not had much exposure on this station, however we can change all this by ensuring they stay on the playlist.  What are you waiting for, go vote now! Thanks to Rich for the heads up.

OLP are featured in Conan O'Brien's music highlights section of NBC.com.  Way to go OLP!

September 26, 2002 (Evening)
Wow!  Our Lady Peace are not messing around this time with their European Tour as olp.net has added 7 more dates in Germany, Denmark, Holland and Belgium.  See our Tour section for more, and check back soon for more info on each of the dates.  Thanks to Jason, Troy, Susie, Kris, and Tanya.

We apologize for any concern or confusion we may of caused due to our news from yesterday regarding ticketmaster posting another postponement of the Trump Arena show.  Ticketmaster has now removed the comment, and it has been confirmed with the venue that the show is in fact still taking place on October 18th.  Thanks to Rob, Gail, and Nikki for the info.

September 26, 2002 (Afternoon)
Check out our Tour section for a newly added date of November 17th in Manchester, England. Thanks to SoozyJ from the CC for the news.

September 26, 2002 (Morning)
The following was taken from a War Child Press Release. "On November 15th, War Child Canada will launch it's latest and most exciting national fundraising effort to date: Keep the Beat (KTB)! A non-stop music marathon, KTB participants from across Canada can get friends and family to sponsor their music marathon, making sure the music never stops for 6, 12 or 24 hours (you decide!). KTB participants will play live music, spin records, dance, sing karaoke, play CDs, rap or create any form of musical expression you love to listen to. Pledges you collect for making music will help war-affected children from around the world. In partnership with War Child Canada's Media Sponsor MuchMusic, most KTB marathons will take place in schools and universities across North America, but everyone - students, teachers, friends, businesses and family - can participate! And all participants will have the chance to win some great KTB prizes and give-aways!"  Click here to find out more about the prizes, one of which is an autographed OLP guitar!!!  "All funds raised through KTB will provide much-needed assistance to children in war zones through War Child Canada's humanitarian projects. To find out how you can take part, please contact War Child Canada (Toll Free) at 1-866-WARCHILD (927-2445) or by email keepthebeat@warchild.ca." Thanks to Caitlin, Stacey J575 from the CC, and Gail for the info.

According to OLP.com,
"not only has MuchMusic started playing Our Lady Peace's "Innocent," but the video will become the 'Big One' for the week of September 27! In the U.S. keep an eye out for "Innocent" to enter heavy rotation on MTV2 starting next week."

Haven't heard OLP's cover of "Imagine" yet?  Well now you can.

September 25, 2002 (Evening)
Let's join forces yet again and vote for Our Lady Peace's "Innocent" on Muchmusic's Powershift.  Then tune in to Much on Tuesday night as they count down the 30 most popular picks.  Thanks to Sab for the news.

The date at Trump Arena that was postponed from August 16th to October 18th appears to be postponed again as the Ticketmaster.com site states the following, "Event has been postponed til TBA.  No new date has been set, however all tickets will be honored at new date or refunds at point of purchase"  We contacted ticketmaster and they have confirmed that this show is in fact postponed without a reschedule date at this time.  Thanks to Kate for the heads up.

September 25, 2002 (Afternoon)

It turns out that Our Lady Peace are actually playing France on the 19th, and the newly added date found on olp.net, London, England on the 18th.  See out Tour section for more.

FYI: The venue Our Lady Peace will be playing in England called "Astoria", is a classic theatre that played host to many legends over the years.  For example, A guitar famously burnt on stage by Jimi Hendrix is likely to become the most expensive guitar ever sold at auction this month. Hendrix's Fender Stratocaster Sunburst, thought to be the same instrument that he set fire to at the London Astoria in 1967, is expected to fetch at least £400,000.

September 25, 2002 (Morning)
According to the Creed website, OLP will be touring along with Creed and 12 Stones on November 21 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in Dayton, OH.  Thanks to Chris for the heads up.

There seems to be some confusion about when Our Lady Peace
will play in Paris. OLP.net has it listed as November 18 however, the venue and place to purchase tickets has it listed as November 19.  If anyone can clarify which date is correct, please let us know. Thanks to Eelco for pointing this out to us.

Here is the setlist from last night's show in Pelham, AL and read a review from the Columbia, SC show.  Thanks to Chris and Amber for sharing these with us.

September 24, 2002 (Evening)

Read more reviews from the Detroit, MI show.  Thanks to Paul, Jonathon and Donnie.

Head over to MTV to read a news article about OLP's show in Detroit, MI.  Thanks to Ryan and Doug for the link.

Check out these comments from an interview with Ryan from Greenwheel who gives props to OLP:

You have toured with artists like Flickerstick and Our lady peace. It must have been very inspiring?

Ryan: Very much so. Touring with bands like OLP, Flickerstick, Default, and Injected really taught us a lot about the road. Things to do, and a few things to not do, but mainly just the attitude to the whole thing. We have been blessed with being put out with artists who have their heads on straight and have their priorities.

Which modern rock act are you most amazed of?
Ryan: The Vines I like a lot. OLP amazes me. I've been a fan since Naveed and the records that they make are always new and refreshing. They push themselves to new limits each record. That also goes for Radiohead and Tool. Who in my opinion are geniuses! The Queens of the Stoneage are amazing. And of course The Chili Peppers who never cease to amaze me.

To read the whole interview, go here.  Thanks to Tom for sending this our way.

According to BWK,
Our Lady Peace's "Is Anybody Home" was played in the background of the Tom Green uncensored on MTV.  It's the part where it shows a clip of Monica Lewinsky trying to get into Glen's house.  Thanks to BWK for the info.

September 19, 2002
Read a review and take a look at the setlist from last night's show in Detroit, MI.  Thanks to Brandon and Tim for sharing these with us.

Attention OLP fans!!!  A fellow fan, Christal has written to us about a concern about this week's OLP Streetteam request to vote for OLP on TRL via the telephone. Unfortunately, she feels that many of OLP's votes are being lost.  Here is what is happening when she tries to call in and vote for OLP:  When she finally gets through, the phone is automated and asks you to enter the first three letters of the video you' would like to request.  So as she types in "SOM" to request "Somewhere Out There", it says "thanks for voting for 'SOMETIMES' by the Strokes and it hangs up. Then when she calls back to request the ARTIST, when she enters the first three letters, (OUR) it says 'thanks for voting for the band 'OURS' and hangs up. Is anyone else encountering this?  For now, we suggest that if you are having this problem with the telephone voting, that you head over to the MTV TRL page and vote for OLP there (you must go to the end of the page and add OLP's "SOT" since the Video is no longer on the Countdown.) Thanks to Christal for making us aware of this problem and we hope it fixes itself soon.

The song "Somewhere Out There" as well as the song and band's name has been spotted on a commercial for ABC's show, "Alias."  Thanks to Vpresben for the info.

Head to the Charts page and see how OLP are doing on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks and Billboard's Adult Top 40. Thanks to April for keeping us informed.

September 18, 2002 (Evening)
OK fans...lets get our OLP Army together and vote on the UK's TotalRock.  Currently they are 11th place with a miserable 0.4% of the votes.  If they win, they will get played at 5pm every day.  If they make the top 3, they will get played on Sunday. This is a great opportunity to get OLP heard in the UK.  Thanks to Susie for the link.

Check out this cool feature and contest on the chinese MTV.  Thanks to Rob Roy for the link.

Drop by olp.net for a new poll where you select your favourite live unreleased track or cover.  Thanks to Kris for the news.

Check out this photo of Our Lady Peace at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh on August 22nd.  Thanks to Eron for sharing.

September 16, 2002 (Evening)
Tonight on WWE RAW (a wrestling show), they aired a brief music video tribute to a wrestler named Jeff Hardy.  This desire as it is called, showcases one of the wrestlers and what it means to him to be a wrestler. The music used for Jeff Hardy's desire was OLP's "Not Enough".  WWE gave credit before and after the video, showing the song title and album cover on the screen which means that the "Gravity" CD was advertised twice.  This is great exposure for the band to a new crowd that may not have been into Our Lady Peace in the past, despite "Whatever" being featured on one of the WWE's soundtracks.  Thanks to Nunofreak, Josh, Brandon, Wes and Nadia for the info.

Check out this great photo taken in Germany of Raine and Mike.  Thanks for sharing Patrick.

Chantal's website has now added more pictures and video of Raine and Chantal in the studio.  Thanks to Josh and Tessa for the news.

September 16, 2002 (Morning)
Be sure to tune into Jay Leno tonight to catch OLP performing on the show.

The UK release of the "SOT" single is now September 23 and the release date for "Gravity" is now September 30.  Thanks to Tony R for the heads up.

OLP's "Somewhere Out There is being heard on Kink FM!  This is a commercial station that only plays alternative/rock music. The fact that OLP is being played means the station likes the music. Other stations usually only play songs that the record companies ask them to. It is great to hear that not only are they playing the song but "Somewhere Out There" was also on Kink Fm's Outlaw 41 chart. It made it's debut on the chart on August 19th at #33, then it moved up to #24 and at #27 before falling off the charts. The Kink Fm site even had some info about OLP and their success in Canada and the United States.  Thanks to Eelco den Boer for the news.

It really does seem that Sony Music is trying to promote OLP more in Europe. "Somewhere Out There" is also on the playlist of MTV Holland. Two weeks ago Eelco saw it for the first time. Viewers could vote if they found the video Hot or Not and 57% voted Hot. So, OLP is making fast progress in Holland and it looks good for their concert in November.  Thanks again to Eelco den Boer for keeping us informed.

Read a review of Gravity from Katrillion. Also while you are there read two articles on the band.  One about their success and another about stuff that OLP fans should know about the band and their music.  Thanks to Gail for the links.

September 15, 2002
Once again, we apologize for the lack of news and the delay in responding to some of your emails. We are doing our best to catch up so please be patient with us.

Read some reviews of Gravity from MeanStreet and this article from Wazee which features OLP in the spotlight. Thanks to Rob and Stace for the links.

OLP's "Innocent" climbs from #17 to #14 on Edge 102's
Thursday 30Thanks to Rob for the update.

Check out these photos taken at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Thanks to Lisa for sharing.

September 13, 2002
Drop by ourladypeace.com for some pics from the Innocent Video Shoot.  Thanks to Kris, Caitlin and Jen for the news.

The Muchmusic Spotlight that was originally scheduled for September 24th has been moved to tomorrow morning at 2:30am and 6:30am.  If it is the same spotlight that aired on the 11th, it is a repeat of an old spotlight.

If you live in the listening area of 99.1 HFS, then be sure to tune in for your chance to win concert tickets.  Thanks to Troy for the news.

Y100 is featuring a Sonic Session Playback this Sunday at 9 AM and 11 PM  recorded with Our Lady Peace on March 14, 2000!  Thanks again to Troy for the scoop.

Read chinese?  Or curious how ourladypeace's official page would look in this cool language?  Then check out the new chinese ourladypeace.com.

Pete was at his local HMV in the U.K. yesterday and was shocked to hear "Gravity" being played in it's entirety.  Looks like the Peace is spreading!  Thanks for the update Pete.

Again we apologize for the delay in posting news, and will get to the several items still waiting in our inbox.  We are busy with a family wedding this weekend, so time has been slim.  Please don't stop sending us your emails though!!  :)

September 12, 2002
We apologize for the lack of news yesterday and earlier today. We have been EXTREMELY busy so we have a lot of catching up to do!

We have even more reviews and pictures from the UK gig on Sept 4.  Check them out:  Thanks to Claire (review, pics),
and Mark, Dean and Susie of edog (pics) for sharing them with us.

Did you miss the TotalRock interview with Raine and Duncan?  Fortunately a fellow OLP fan, Tanya was kind enough to type it out so we can all read it here. Thanks to Tanya for taking the time to transcribe it.

This could possibly be the first time OLP has been mentioned in the UK Press since "Spirtual Machines." "Somewhere Out There" was reviewed in this week's Kerrang! Magazine in the UK!  Susie was kind enough to type it out for us so here it is (reader's discretion is advised):

Kerrang! singles - reviewed by Corey Taylor and Joey Jordison (of Slipknot)
with Ashley Bird.
Rating - KKK (Good)
Canadians Our Lady Peace have been crafting top-drawer post-grunge radio
rock with class and style for five albums now, and it's time they had their
moment in the spotlight. This is possibly the best chance they've had.
Corey: "These are actually pretty damn good, let's hear it. Oh, it's one of
those slow, sombre ones for when you're sitting in the pub going, 'Oh, life
sucks...'. It's pretty emo. I can't stand crap like Creed, but this is
alright."
Joey: "I probably wouldn't reach to put this on. It's okay for what it is,
but I would never buy it. They're obviously good at what they do."
Isn't singer Raine Maida quite a heartthrob back in the States?

The following news just in from the OLP Newsletter:

Video shoot for "Innocent" video
Our Lady Peace are taking a break from their busy tour schedule to shoot the video for their new single, "Innocent," this week. While we can't divulge too many details about the video, we can tell you that it's being shot over three days in Toronto and that it will be directed by Tryan George. But what is it about, you ask? In Tryan's own words, it's about "that small moment that happened yesterday. You know, the one that you forgot - and similar to the one that will happen today at some point, and probably tomorrow - was beautiful, but now it's gone. It's that f***ed up fleeting quality of life."

New tour date
OLP will be playing at The Beaumont in Kansas City, MO on September 26. Tickets go onsale through Ticketmaster on August 31 at 10 am.  Thanks to Troy and Jason for the info.

Attention Washington DC OLP fans!!!
A moderator from the 930.com FAQ has posted about the rescheduling of the show postponed on August 19 saying; "The show will still be sold out when it is reanounced. There may become tickets available as people who can't make the new show have to unload their  tickets. We still don't have the new date but we hope to soon."  Thanks to Susan for emailing us.

Here is an interesting tidbit of info that was sent to us from Nunofreak:  "Our Lady Peace are thanked in the liner notes of Kay Hanley's solo album "Cherry Marmalade". Who is Kay Hanley you ask and why is she thanking Our Lady Peace? Well, Kay Hanley is the former lead singer of Letters To Cleo. Her husband is Mike Eisenstein, who is now playing rhythm guitar for Our Lady Peace on tour. Mike Eisenstein also plays on "Cherry Marmalade", which is very good just in case you're wondering." Thanks Nunofreak for sending us this info.

Here is the setlist for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show on August 21:
All For You, Do You Like It, Superman's Dead, Naveed, Not Enough, Bring Back The Sun, Innocent, Clumsy, Mafia, Somewhere Out There, Starseed, and 4am. Then they re-did Somewhere out there, and Superman's Dead and played Is Anybody Home, Birdman, and Whatever. Unfortunately all of these songs will not be aired on MTV's special on OLP in November.  According to an MTV setlist from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame taping, the following songs will be shown on MTV on November 27: Superman's Dead, Innocent, Clumsy, Starseed, Somewhere Out There and 4AM.   Thanks to Gail and Joe for sending us the setlists.

There is a really good chance that Our Lady Peace may tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers in Australia and Japan.  We received an email from a fan saying he heard the rumour, and when speaking with the band and crew after the shows in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, they did mention possible upcoming dates in Australia and Japan, and it so happens the Chili Peppers will be there too.  So there may be some truth to this rumour.  However, it is still just a rumour until announced officially.  Watch our tour section for more as it becomes available.  Thanks to John for the news.

August 21, 2002 (Early Morning)
Planning on attending tonight's concert at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?  So are we!  Look for us, and say hi!  We'll both be wearing black shirts, Rich's has a dragon on it, and we will be with two other girls.  Audiovent is planning to take the stage at 9:00, and Our Lady Peace at 10:30.  Some disturbing information we were told by an employee of the venue is that because it is being videotaped, MTV will be handpicking 45 people from the line-up and letting them in first for the front row.  So if you don't meet MTV's "look", you will miss out on front row regardless if you camped in the line for hours.  That is totally unfair, but doesn't surprise us.

Please note:  The interview on 92.3 Xtreme Radio today with Duncan and Jeremy will be aired at 1 pm instead of 2 pm, and should run about 30 minutes.

Check out these photos taken at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on August 13, 2002.  Thanks to Parker for sharing.

There is a rumour that on September 24th Our Lady Peace will release a "live" 4 track bonus value cd, with one track being Starseed.  The recently released Australian Gravity also had a bonus cd.  It's likely going to be the same.  Also, considering they are playing in Birmingham that day, we are guessing you will be able to purchase their cd with the bonus cd and possibly a meet-and-greet autograph session.  Please be aware that none of this is confirmed, and is all just a possibility.  Thanks to Eric for the scoop.

In 1995 on August 18th and 19th, OLP opened for Van Halen. It is from one of these shows that the "
Live 1995" fan club cd was born.  Before one of the shows, they were presented the platinum award for their first cd "Naveed".

Some of you may have remembered a little while back when someone on the CC mentioned they would be interviewing OLP.  Well, we have the transcript of the interview with Jeremy here.  Also check out some live shots taken by Planet Verge at the show in Old Bridge, NJ that night. Thanks to Rob for sending it our way.

Unfortunately OLP's "SOT" is slipping down Edge 102's Thursday 30 as they fall from #14 to #18.  Hopefully with everyone requesting "Innocent," the new single will start moving upwards. Thanks to Rob for the update.

August 18, 2002 (Morning)
Drop by our wallpaper section for 2 new additions.  Thanks to Jason and Winger for sharing.

According to this article from Launch, OLP may have sold over 200,000 copies of "Gravity" by now. If anyone knows how many copies have been sold, please let us know. Thanks to Rob for forwarding this to us.

August 17, 2002 (Evening)
According to Gail, Jeremy mentioned that OLP will be playing with Moby for free in New York on August 27th at Chelsea Piers as part of MTV's Music Awards week.  A local New York Station was giving away tickets to the event so the show may not be open to all.  The tickets say Moby and guest so please be aware that this show has not been confirmed on any official websites. If anyone has anymore info on this event, please email us. Thanks to Gail for keeping us informed.

August 17, 2002 (Afternoon)
According to Sony Russia, OLP's "Gravity" will be released on September 30, 2002 for those fans in Russia.

Check out these articles about "Gravity"  from Modern Rock and Sun Media.

August 17, 2002 (Late Morning)
We don't know how he does it, but we have an abundance of great reads for you today as found by information-finding-guru Rob.  Drop by Outbreed.net for a review of Gravity by a fan who appears to be stuck in the past (as he praises Naveed in a review as well).  But hey, I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if we think it is off track.  Click on his link to leave him a comment and tell him why you think he is missing the point.  Also drop by Modernrock for a more positive review.  Another positive review by Birmingham Post-Herald.  Read this interview with Raine on Sythesis.net.  Thanks alot Rob for all your work.

Also check out yet another cd review on Music Made Me Do It (cute name).

Our Lady Peace's "Innocent" has been added to today's "Survivior Of The Day" on G1063.com.  Drop by to vote for Aimee Allen to be booted out so that Our Lady Peace stay for next weeks battle.  Then at 9 P.M. they will play the two songs (Innocent and Aimee Allen's "Revolution"), and from 9-9:50 P.M. they take calls as to which song should be booted off the station Survivor-style. Remember when voting that you are not voting FOR Our Lady Peace, but rather to boot Aimee Allen.  So you want to select the song OLP is going up against rather than selecting the OLP song. It's basically done as a Survivor clone.  If OLP wins, they face a new challenger tomorrow.  Thanks to Josh for the news.

Here are some interesting tidbits of info that was posted by JPS12 on the CC after speaking with Raine at the Chicago, IL show:

~ the band is planning to shoot a video for "
Innocent" soon and the concept could be that the viewer would see the video through the eyes of a continuously moving camera.  Basically, similar to Prodigy's video for "Smack My B**ch Up" and the Foo Fighters "My Hero" video.

~ Regarding the live album they spoke about before the "Gravity" release,
Raine said they have 3-4 tracks ready and they would be released this fall sometime as part of a package, or bonus tracks. These may be the tracks that are included on the Australian release of the "Somewhere Out There" single as seen in our discography singles page.

~ As for tour plans,  Raine mentioned that they would be touring Canada this fall and returning to the US in the spring for more shows.
Thanks to Rob for forwarding this post to us and to JPS12 for the info.

Request OLP on 106.5 The End and make OLP #1 for as many nights as possible.  The more popular they become in the Charlotte area can determine what slot (time of day) they play at 106.5's upcoming Weenie Roast on September 22!!!  Thanks to Adam for the information.

It turns out the Canoe Favourite Canadian Band poll was over and published in the Sunday Sun and the London Free Press.  The poll was split into mail-in votes and online votes. OLP won the online race which was dubbed "more of a clicking match between fans of Our Lady Peace and Barenaked Ladies" After 70,000 online votes, OLP had 42%, BNL had 36% and Triumph had 11%. As for the 'real' vote (according the writer of this article), The Guess Who won the poll with 43.1%, then Rush with 14.6% and the Hip with 10.1%. (OLP was 10th overall with 40 votes of the total 2786, or 0.014%).  If you have a hardcopy of this article, we would love it if you scanned it and sent it our way.  Congratulations to all of you who participated in voting Our Lady Peace as their favourite.  Regardless of what this writer thinks, this online community is just as important, if not more, than the snail-mail participants.  Thanks to Matt and Rachel for the news.

Iann Robinson of MTV recently did an interview with the popular metal website Metal Sludge. When asked what bands should give it up and 'call it a day', Robinson said "...As for new jack bands, I could live with all this Nu Metal shit if Limp Bizkit broke up and Fred Durst vanished forever. I could also use the untimely demise of Crazy Town, Our Lady Peace, Linkin Park and The Strokes."  We don't really know this Ian Robinson guy,
but we have heard that he is a fan of heavier music so this could be why he doesn't like  OLP.  Thanks for the tidbit Darren.

Thanks to John for keeping us informed.

Whew!  Great show....but we are tiiiiirrreeeddd!  Arrived home at 3:30am, have to awake for work at 6:30am, so safe to say today is going to be a long day for the both of us.  But was it worth it?  Of Course!!!  The show rocked!  We originally planted ourselves front-row-centre, watched the band do some setting up...but didn't even make it through the opening bands due to the rough crowd.  We ended up wimping out and asking security to pull us over the barricade.  We should of known better at an outside venue.  We then moved around to the 19+ section where the fans were somewhat better.  We eventually found a good side view, and enjoyed an amazing show.  We snagged a setlist, and met all but Duncan after the show, and for the first time, were able to have a very interesting and long conversation with Raine.  We will fill you all in later with the details, and a bunch of photos.  Sorry...off to work.  :-)

July 11, 2002

OLP were on Muchnews about 2:15 pm EST today. Here is what it was all about: OLP Back To Basics With Bob Rock
Our Lady Peace are back with their 5th studio album, ‘Gravity,’ but this time around they tried something different. They decided to work with a new producer, but not just any producer, it was Bob Rock. MuchMusic’s Rick Campanelli sat down with the guys to chat about the latest album and recording with someone new. Lead singer Raine Maida explained why they chose Bob Rock, who has worked with artists like Metallica, Motley Crue and The Cult. “We needed to get to a place where we were just musicians again and just totally getting amped on playing music and recording it. And Bob just has this great way to make you record stuff live off the floor, and not do what we’ve been used to doing which is like overdubbing to death and always adding layer after layer,” said Maida. “He’s like, ‘let’s not add all these layers and let’s just make the songs sound great, just the four of you guys playing it.’ Now it’s just about four guys and it’s rock n’ roll.”  If you missed it, like we did, be sure to tune into Muchnews this weekend for a possible repeat.  Thanks to Nadine for the info.
