In addtion to the people Mike Eisenstein is listed playing with in yesterdays news, he has also played with Catie Curtis (Guitar), Lalah Hathaway (Guitar), James Taylor (Choir?, Chorus?), Three Crosses (Guitar Technician).  Coincidently, along with Our Lady Peace, he appeared on 1996's Craft Soundtrack with Letters to Cleo.  Drop by AMG's Music Guide for more on Mike Eisenstein. Also found on this page was information on Jeremy contributing to a Tom Cochrane CD, and a bunch of Mike Turner entries (some must be another Mike Turner...trumpet? percussion?)  Thanks to Tim for the links.

Drop by our artwork section for a newly added sketch of the members of Our Lady Peace drawn in Southpark fashion.  Thanks to Chri for sharing.

Feel like a laugh?  Check out the Snoop Dogs "Tha Shizzolator" and enter our website address into the box in the centre.  Thanks to Tom for the link.

Happy Birthday to Our Lady Peace's stunt musician, Mike Eisenstein!  In tribute to his talents, we dug a little deeper and found out that not only did he used to play with "Letters to Cleo" and with his wife "Kay Hanley", but he also appeared on recordings by Sara Mann, Nina Gordon, and Averi.  If you know of any more bands, let us know.  We would also like to wish him and his family (including his newborn) the best in the new year.  :)

All week on Rochester New York's WZNE the Zone they are playing the "Top 25 Albums of New Rock" during the day because all the DJs are on vacation. Early yesterday afternoon they played the whole Clumsy album, with recordings in between songs informing listeners that they are hearing Our Lady Peace's Clumsy. In the recording, a voice also says "the best of the best." The albums that are being played aren't ranked, but it's nice to know that they put OLP in their top 25.  Thanks to Colleen for the news.

On Christmas morning CBC's Newsworld was interviewing Chantal Kreviazuk. They asked her about recording with Raine and she said they were planning on making an album and then tour together sometime in the near future.  No more specifics were given.  While searching for information on this interview, we stumbled upon this interesting profile of Chantal from 1996.  Thanks to Jim for the news.

December 25, 2002
We wish Everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2003!  If you are spending time with your family and/or friends, be sure to treasure it.  We shouldn't take our families and friends for granted, especially during this time of world chaos.

Be sure to head over to Bring Back the Sun for a special Christmas treat.  Thanks to Ted and Ry for sharing.

December 24, 2002

Fellow OLP fan Rich recently went to a Chicago Blackhawks game, where he bought the team program which is called "Faceoff".  Inside he found a profile  of the Blackhawk's Goaltender (he's currently with one of the farm teams) Michael Leighton whi listed Our Lady Peace under his "Best Concert" category, and teammate Shawn Thornton listed "'Hello Oskar' by Our Lady Peace" under the "Favorite Pump-up Song" category.  Thanks to Rich for keeping us informed.

We aren't sure if this is the same episode of MTV's "Real World" that has been mentioned before in our news but on today's episode, OLP's "Life" was heard.  Thanks to Gina and Chris for the update.

November 1, 2002
Good news!!! Thanks to Jillie, we may have another pair of tickets to give away. If by 7:15-7:30, you still don't have tickets for the show, we might be able to help you out. The first person to come up to us at the ACC entrance sculpture (cones) and say "ourladypeace.cc" will be the winner.  Please do not make a special trip to Toronto for these tickets as we cannot guarantee that we will have them.

OLP will be playing on November 22 in Selinsgrove, PA.  Susquehanna University's Student Activities Committee is sponsoring a concert featuring the alternative rock group Our Lady Peace at 8 p.m. in Weber Chapel Auditorium. The band's new album Gravity features the smash hit "Somewhere Out There." Tickets are $15 and go on sale to the public November 8 by calling the box office at 570-372-ARTS (2787). SU students can purchase tickets for $12 beginning November 1.  Thanks so much to Jacqui and Kelley for the info on this date.

According to the Greenwheel site, OLP will be touring with them from November 22- November 26.  Thanks to Richard and Amy for the heads up.

It appears that Jeremy was spotted at the Foo Fighters Muchmusic I and I this week. Check out the picture gallery and see if you can spot him. Thanks to Duke for the info.

October 31, 2002 (Morning)
Good news to all the fans who have been entering our random draw for tickets to tomorrow nights concert.  A fellow fan, and very generous person named Nikki, has sent us 2 more tickets to share.  She is very sad that she cannot make it, but would rather see a real fan experience OLP then let them go to waste.  Special thanks to Nikki, we need more people as thoughtful as her in this crazy world.

We just wanted to make a correction to our news on October 29th, Jeremy and Duncan's voices do not appear on Grand Theft Auto 3, they appear on the just released Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.  Thanks to Jean-Marc for the heads up.

Read another review from the recent New York show in Central Park.  Thanks to Gail for sending it in.

Unfortunately, OLP's "Innocent" has fallen to #23 on Muchmusic's Power Shift.  We need to join together and vote, vote vote. Thanks to Sab for making us aware of this.

"Somewhere Out There" was spotted on MTV's "FM Nation" on Tuesday October 29.  Thanks to Corey for emailing us about this.

October 30, 2002 (Afternoon)

October 30, 2002 (Morning)
Raine talks about what he used to dress up as for Halloween in Katrillion's article on "Halloween with Rock Stars":  "It was typical," Our Lady Peace's Raine Maida told Katrillion. "When I was young, I dressed up as Superman. I would wear it way past Halloween. I think my mom got a little annoyed." Thanks to Tessa for the link.

After the acoustic show in Central Park, someone asked Raine when the song
"The end always comes dry" would be released.  Surprisingly, Raine seemed to be confused about what song that was. Then, Brian said, the Daredevil song and this made Raine realize what song they were referring to.  He then told them, "oh! I'll let you guys in on a little secret, it's now called "----".  Unfortunately Brian can't remember exactly what the title was that Raine said it was changed to but he seems to think it was something like "Everything Falls Apart" or "Everything Crumbles Away" or maybe a variation of the two, "Everything Crumbles Apart." If anyone happened to be in on this conversation and can remember the name, please email us. Thanks to Brian for the interesting info.

This past Saturday, OLP were spotted on Musiqueplus' Fax.  Thanks to Duke for the heads up.

October 29, 2002 (Later Evening)
Very cool!  OLP's "Somewhere Out There" was featured as the closing music on today's episode of  "Smallville." We always thought "Made of Steel" could be a perfect song for the show.

October 29, 2002 (Evening)
We are planning on meeting some other fans after the ACC concert on November 1st.  If you would like to join us all, check out the details on our Meetup page.  Hope to see you there!

Yesterday, Kasey was listening to one of the USA's biggest radio countdowns called the Rick Dee's Top 40 Countdown and it turns out that  Our Lady Peace's "Somewhere Out There" dropped from #22 to #24.  However, Rick Dee was heard singing along to some of the song.  Thanks to Kasey for the info.

October 26, 2002
Today is a sad day for us as our ten year old cat "Baby" (named after Baby on the tv show Dinosaurs) passed away with Heart Disease.  He was with us as long as we have been a couple, and he will be missed dearly.  In memory, we ask everyone to think of our "Schmabe" (nickname) the next time you listen to "Sell My Soul" or "Not Enough".  We know we won't be able to think of anything else but him, especially when listening to these lyrics.

Drop by HMV.ca to pre-order a copy of a limited edition version of Gravity that goes on sale on November 19th.  This version has all the songs from the major release, as well as the following extras: 11.Naveed (live) 12.Whatever (live) 13.Starseed (live) 14.4AM (live) 15.SOT (Vid) 16.Innocent (Vid) 17.On The Road With The Gravity Tour Vid Clip.  Thanks to Jason for the news.

Further the confusion of OLP playing with Creed on November 25th as seen on olp.com and creed.com.  The opening act has been changed to TBA, so ticketmaster must be correct stating that they are playing in Louisville Kentucky on this date.  Thanks to Mai for the update.

October 25, 2002

We are going to Buffalo tonight to see OLP!!  If you are going to the concert write olp.cc on the back of your hand.  If we see it, we can finally say hi in person to all the great fans that support this website!

According to Pollstar, OLP will be playing at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL on December 7, 2002. Go to our tour info section for more info.  Thanks to Matt for the heads up.

Here is the setlist from last night's show in Washington, DC.  Almost the same as the night before but it did not include Neon Crossing.  Instead, they played possibly a new song or at the very least a unique instrumental set with some vocals from Raine brief (2.5min). Could it be "The End Always Comes Dry?"  Hmmm...we wonder.  Thanks to Steve for the setlist.

We hope to be able to post reviews from last night's Washington show as well as fan reviews and our review  from tonight's Buffalo show, by tomorrow.

October 23, 2002 (Later Evening)

According to the Creed Site, OLP will be playing with Creed and Stereo Fuse (who seem to have replaced 12 Stones in the lineup) on November 25 at the Ice Palace in Tampa, FL.  Earlier today we posted about a radio anouncement which said that OLP would be playing at Jillians in Louisville, KY on November 25.  Now all we need to find out is which date are they playing at for sure.  If anyone has more details about either of these dates, please email us.  For now, we will post them both as November 25 in the tour info section until we have clarification on which one is correct. Thanks to Amy for writing to us about this.

See our Tour section for more information as it becomes available.

If you were one of the lucky ones to win a pair of the 800 tickets given away from OLP.com  last Thursday and are worried about how you will pick them up, then you are going to want to read  this! As posted on the CC FAQ section for the ACC show, here is a common question asked:
Question:  I won’t be able to go to the Edge before Wednesday, October 30. Is there a way I can pick them up later?
Answer: Yes. You can also pick up your pair of tickets the day of the show at the A.C.C box office before 6 p.m. Make sure to bring I.D. After 6 p.m., all unclaimed tickets will be released

Check out this link to the radio station Kiss 108 in Boston, MA.  There you will find an article, some pictures and a live acoustic veriosn of "Somewhere Out There" from OLP's stop at the station last week.  Thanks to Kevin for sending this our way.

October 22, 2002 (Evening)
This just in from the OLP newsletter:
OLP will be performing at the MSN 8 Dome at Central Park's Wollman Rink Friday, October 25 at 8:00 pm ET. To get into this highly exclusive show, you must be one of the first 500 people to visit the MSN 8 Dome at 2:00 p.m. ET Friday, October 25 at 63rd Street and 5th Avenue and take an MSN 8 demo. You will then be given a free ticket for the show taking place that evening. This is a small, intimate show - there are only 500 tickets available - so if you snooze, you lose!

October 22, 2002 (Afternoon)
Hopefully this will clarify the confusion about when the OLP performance from Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be aired on MTV.  A fan has written in giving us more details about the commercial that is currently being shown on MTV.   The commercial shows a bunch of bands that will be airing on the series of Hall of Fame Shows.  The series will be starting on Oct 23 with Wyclef and the rest of the series will be on Wednesday nites at 8 pm. If
you click on Air Times for the show it appears that each performance
will be replayed on the Sunday after the first showing.  Thanks to Pete for helping us understand this.

OLP moves up from #93 to #64 on UBL's Top 100.  Thanks to Duke for the heads up.

The release date for the "Somewhere Out There" single and 7" in the UK has been put back again.  Thanks to Susie for keeping us up to date on this.

October 22, 2002 (Morning)
A fan just reported that MTV has been showing commercials advertising OLP's performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH  that was taped back in August.  According to the commericals, the show will be airing on October 23 instead of the date previously posted which was November 27.
However, if you go to the MTV site, it says that Wyclef will be aired on October 23. If anyone else has more info about this, please let us know.  Thanks to Kasey and Amy for the heads up.

Raine called into 99.1 WHFS in Washington DC yesterday (October 21) and here are some highlights from the interview:
-he made mention that due to the sniper attacts, he has requested that the club let their fans in when they arrive, and not to let them stand in line until the doors open.  He said he didn't want any of the kids to be put in danger.
-he talked about OLP and the accoustic show they'll be doing at the Canadian Embassy before their show at the 9:30 club.  Hmmm...could this be that show that 99.1 WHFS was giving away tickets for a while back and that we didn't know a date for???  It appears so. Thanks to Kathy for filling us in on this info.

"Made of Steel" was played on Monday Night Football last night for approximately 20 seconds.  At the end of halftime, just before the start of the third quarter, ABC showed Pittsburgh Steelers highlights to the music of OLP.  This was similar to what was done for ESPN's College Gameday. Thanks goes out to Pat, Dave, Flea, Chris, Kelly and Sam for the update.

Some interesting news that some of you may be want to know!  In the thank you part of the liner notes for the new Ash greatest hits album, Intergalactic sonic 7's, Our Lady Peace were listed.  Thanks to Kelly for keeping us informed.

Not only Dutch magazines pay attention to OLP!!!! In the rest of Europe, the word is spreading. Eelco found a German magazine called Rock Hard, with a two page interview with Raine. There was also a review of Gravity in the UK's Rock Sound Magazine.  You can take a look at the articles on Eelco's page, here or in our articles section and Gravity review section along with the Dutch articles that he submitted earlier this month.  Kudos to Eelco for all his hard work!!!

In other European OLP news, Our Lady Peace was mentioned on FOK!, a Dutch online community with almost 40.000 members. In addition, "Somewhere Out There" was played on a popular show on 3FM (the national music station for pop/rock music). The dj mentioned Gravity and recommended people to buy it and enjoy it while relaxing on the couch.  Thanks again to Eelco for keeping us up to date on OLP in Europe.

Wow!  That is the best way to describe last nights Our Lady Peace concert at the newly constructed John Labatt Centre in London Ontario.  Drop by our photos section to see some great photos from last night.  Also watch for a review to be posted soon (honest). Special thanks to the many of you who provided entertainment after the show. Some after show highlights were fans taking turns clown car cramming into our little Mazda to get warm, and most of all the traffic directing duties of Shivon, Eugene and Krossing Kruno.  We have a reflective vest in our trunk from work, so they took turns putting it on and making fools of themselves directing vehicles as they passed.  Shivon ran to hide twice when she learned the vehicles she was waving on were in fact police cars!  Thanks for the laughs all!

Also read this review of last nights concert as submitted by Sab.  Thanks for sharing your experience Sab.

Check out this article on last nights concert as posted in the London Free Press.  Thanks to competitors for the news.

The Our Lady Peace appearance tomorrow morning at the Edge will in fact include a 3 song acoustic performance.  Also, the band will pick a number, the person with the matching wristband number is the winner of the front row tickets for the upcoming free concert at Toronto's Air Canada Centre.  Thanks to Boat and PotatogirlNY for the news.

Woo hoo!!!  Way to go everyone!  According to the OMA Street Team, your votes for OLP have made the video for "Innocent" #1 with 92% of the votes on Muchmusic USA's Oven Fresh Picks

It has been brought to our attention that the OLP shows scheduled with Creed and 12 Stones may not be occuring now.  Unfortunately the lead singer of Creed, Scott Strapp has become ill with acute laryngitis and has been forced to rearrange their tour schedule. Because of this, the two shows (Nov 21 and Nov 27) that OLP were going to open for Creed at, may have been cancelled. The November 21 show no longer shows OLP as an opener, instead it lists 12 Stones and TBA. As well, the November 27 date has not been rescheduled as far as we can see. All the info regarding this is on Creed.com.  Please note nothing official has been stated about OLP not doing these shows, so keep your fingers crossed that they will still do them.  If anyone knows or hears anymore about these two shows (November 21 and November 27), please let  us know. Thanks to Amy for forwarding this news to us.

Head over to Edge 102 and vote for OLP to be in the Top 300 songs of the 90's.  The Countdown Begins Saturday At 9 am EST and continues all Thanksgiving Weekend long On 102.1 The Edge. While you are there, check out some info posted on the Edge site about OLP's appearance at the station on Tuesday Oct 15.

October 7, 2002 (Morning)
Lots of news on OLP from Holland!  Special thanks to Eelco, our representative over in that part of the world, for the following news:

SOT was already on MTV. Now it's also on one of the other big music
stations, called The BOX (www.thebox.nl). Viewers can request the song by
calling a phone number (0909-9798) and the video will be shown.

Tickets for the concert in Amsterdam on Nov. 11th have gone on sale at
www.ticketservice.nl. You also need a membership of the venue but you can
buy that at the door. See www.melkweg.nl for more info.

And the most exciting news. There was a review for Gravity in Holland's
biggest music magazine Oor (www.oor.nl). And it was a very positive review
as well. Here's the translation:

"Success is a choice, that's what the mental coaches of this world often tell
us. But whose choice? The case Our Lady Peace proves where the power ISN'T
in the music business. The albums of the Canadian foursome have all ended
unnoticed in the discountbins. Now the people higher up have decided
differently and they want it to happen with the guitar-rockers. And so we
dutifully give a summary of OLP's blessings. And for that we just take the
review for Gravity's precessor Spiritual Machines: a collection of beautiful
songs, in which singer Raine Maida and guitarist Mike Turner claim glorious
leading roles. Still true, although Turner has been quietly replaced by a
Steve Mazur and topproducer Bob Rock was hired. Gravity isn't different,
more commercial or better than its four older brothers. But it IS high above
the grey guitarmasses. Again. Or, to quote the notoriuous music-critic HB
about the amazing record Clumsy: 'more depth, dynamics and diversity than
many arena-filling band. Now do you believe it? (Helmut Boeijen)"

Another Dutch music magazine, LiveXS (www.livexs.nl) will probably have a
review of Gravity in their next issue (November).

Finally, Sony Music Holland have updated the OLP section on their website
(www.sonymusic.nl). OLP's concert is now also listed in their agenda and
even made the news section. It also says that the Somewhere Out There single will be released on Oct. 14th. It comes with a live-version of Starseed.

Did you miss Our Lady Peace on BBC Radio last night?  Don't fret, you can catch the 20 minute interview by visiting the BBC website, and skipping the feed to approximately 19:40 (press the 5min button 8 times).  They talked about the recording of the new album, trying to break it in the UK and how they are going to keep touring this year because of the fact they are not planning a 6th album anytime soon, so have plenty of time! They said they were touring in November and hopefully again in January in the UK. The chap interviewing them is Bruce Dickenson, lead singer of Iron Maiden.  Thanks to AndyUK for the link and the news.

Planning on attending the upcoming London, Ontario concert?  Then drop by ourladypeace.net for details on how you can win soundcheck passes and a prizepack for showing your OLP pride.  Thanks to Caitlin and Jason for the news.

It turns out the rumours are true, that 30 Seconds to Mars will be playing with Our Lady Peace in Washington on October 22nd and 23rd at the 930 Club.  Wish we could be there!  Thanks to Ava for the news.

Our Lady Peace's Innocent has climbed on the Thursday 30 on Edge 102 in Toronto from #10 to #7, and on the Muchmusic Countdown from #24 to #19.  See our Charts section for more.  Thanks to Pizzola and Kris for the news.

To watch the full video, visit our Videography section.

Brandon wrote us and told us a story about how him and his band 3 Way Stop Music attended the recent Kansas concert and threw a cd to duncan, and he caught it and put it in his pocket.  If you have a band, this is a great way to spread your music.  Thanks for the tip Brandon.

More rumours are coming in regarding "30 Seconds to Mars" (amazing band btw) possibly touring with Our Lady Peace on some upcoming dates.  The lead singer told a fan at a recent show that it was just a possibility, and that they are looking at either touring with OLP or Korn, and that the details are still being ironed out.  So watch our tour section as we hear more, as this collaboration would be a great concert.  Thanks to turnaround12 for the news.

The upcoming Buffalo concert has been sold out.  According to a fellow fan "I got an error trying to order online. I called to confirm that the website wasn't just broken and they said the show was completely sold out. They mentioned that tickets may free up a few days before the show but the possiblity is slim."  Thanks to Mike for the info.

Thanks to Jess for submitting the latest addition to the Wallpaper section.  Be sure to drop in and check it out!

Muchmusic.com has posted the information mentioned by George yesterday as follows, "OLP Singing For The Movies, Canada's Our Lady Peace is flying to L.A. this weekend to be in the movies. Well, not really, their music is going to be featured on an upcoming film soundtrack. Lead singer Raine Maida told launch.com that the band will be completing the song, "The End Always Comes Dry," a "leftover" track that didn't make it on to the band's latest album, "Gravity" for inclusion on a movie soundtrack. Rumour has it that the track will appear on the upcoming soundtrack for the film "Daredevil." The comic-based film is expected to be released in February of 2003."  Thanks to Kris for the news.

Read this great interview as fellow fan Rob asks Sam Siciliano, the producer of the "Out of Here" video a few questions.  Special thanks to Rob for sharing this information.

Thanks again to Tessa for letting us know about this.
