Ben Mulroney, talked about the Toronto concert at the Skydome with Raine and Duncan. He asked why it was important to them to do a concert like this and Raine said that everything was so blown out of proportion and that people outside of Canada or Toronto perceive Toronto differently than it really is. The highlights from the Edge interview pre-show were as follows, Raine and Jeremy present - Got involved with concert to promote city - Honoured to be nominated for awards, but happier to play the free pregame show - Surprised that they're still going strong as a band. - With addition of Steve, everyone is very happy..."Completely new transformation" - Jero - Have done 12 songs already in Maui, touring all summer, back in Sept/Oct in Maui to do 10-12 more songs, pick and choose for new album - Boys love Maui, cause of weather and isolation. - Jeremy talks about how his brother came across a "dildo" at the old Appache Burger. LOL! - cut into Live Album cut of Superman's Dead.  Thanks to Duke and Matt  for the Coles notes.

We are now heading back to Toronto for the pre-game show at Much Music's parking lot at 6:15.  Hope to see you all there!  :)

Every year Lauren's  yearbook has a little insert in the back of it which is done up by Maclean's magazine. It includes all the big happenings in the past year.  This year, there was a little blurb on OLPand a pic of Raine in the music section. According to the OLP.com newsletter, OLP were to be playing at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion in Spring, Texas on September 19.  However, according to the 3 Doors Down site and the Cynthia Woods site, they are actually playing there with 3 Doors Down and Seether on September 18. Please call the venue to verify the actual date before purchasing your tickets. Thanks to Meagan for bringing this to our attention.

Scutley was looking through the music choice channels (the ones that do not display any pictures, just music)  that he has on digital cable in the Michigan area and discovered that "OLP soundcheck" was on at 5:35 pm EST for 1/2 an hour.  He is not sure if this exact show will be repeated however, "OLP Soundcheck" is slated to be on again.  It may be a repeat of the show he heard or it could be more live versions of songs from the band.  If you live in this area, you might want to check out the music channels on Monday June 2 at 7:00 pm EST,  and Tuesday June 3 at 7:30 EST.  It may also be on later in the week as well. Thanks to Scutley for letting us know about this.

Our Lady Peace head to Maui today to work with Bob Rock!
"NardBoy from 92.3 Xtreme radio interviewed Duncan and did a concert announcement for the August 9th show in Cleveland at Tower City Amphitheater with 3 Doors Down and Shinedown (tickets go on sale May 17th). Duncan said they have been in LA writing and leave for Maui on Sunday May 11th to start recording on Monday for a month. He said they are taking a new approach to recording this time around by doing most of it "live off the floor" the same way "Bring Back The Sun" was done. He said the live CD will be out in late-June or early-July and joked around and said he wouldn't give the title out yet. He also said the DVD will be out by the end of the year. Duncan also said that, even though they sound like a broken record because they keep saying it, but that the really do feel like a new band with Steve and they are very excited since this will be the first record written with Steve from it's inception. He also said that when they hit the road, it will just be the four of them, no extra musicians."  Thanks to OLPDude for the news.

May 7, 2003 (Evening)
We received an email from a concerned fan hoping that OLP doesn't catch SARS due to the fact that they are currently recording in Toronto.  As usual, the media is blowing this epidemic out of proportion causing unnecessary paranoia. To put things in perspective, we thought we would share the following statistics recently posted in the National Post.  Not only has the warning to visit Toronto been lifted, but the odds of dying of SARS are so rare, that you are more likely to die from falling off a ladder (1 in 9,485), or die from a dog attack (1 in 142,279), or die by accidental strangulation in bed (1 in 10,779.)  Why is the media not in an up rise telling people to not visit Toronto due to all the killer ladders?

May 7, 2003 (Morning)
