Somewhere Out There and Innocent, to Superman's Dead and Naveed. The majority of
the article talks with Jeremy about recording the album in Maui, how Bob Rock
brought the best out of them, and how they are now the band they've wanted to be
for so long. Fuel can be found free at schools and at some music stores.
Thanks to Brent for the scoop.

Our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the fire
at the Great White concert on Thursday evening. Although not directly
related to Our Lady Peace, we are all concert go'ers, and have been in small
crowded clubs ourselves. We ask that everyone be sure to check all the
exits at any crowded public place so that you always have an escape plan.
It is unfortunate that the media appears to be concentrating on who to blame,
rather then concentrating on the people who have lost so much. Andrew, the
webmaster of
Melodicrock.com said it best, "We have all had several hours to digest what
exactly happened last night in Rhode Island, but it doesn't help in trying to
comprehend why it happened and how it could have been prevented. 96 souls have
paid the highest price possible for their love of music." Be sure to drop
by his site and read comments from the concert go'ers themselves, and be sure to
sign the
Rhode Island Condolence Book.

Check out these ads for
the OLP/Avril Lavigne concert in Amsterdam taken from Dutch newspapers Spits
(Kink FM) and Volkskrant (Avril picture). Thanks to Eelco for scanning and
sending them our way!
Last night on
Edge Thursday 30, they were
talking about Our Lady Peace and how they were nominated for 4 JUNOs.
Then Martin (the host of Thursday 30) called Raine,
and started talking about the JUNOs and what song they were performing live on
stage! Raine said "Maybe S.O.T. or maybe any other song, or even the new one
"Our Time Is Fading."
After that there was an ad for buying "Gravity" and they played short clips of
the 3 singles ("Somewhere Out There","Innocent", and "Made Of Steel") from
"Gravity." Then Martin was back and said here's "Made Of Steel", last week 29,
this week 27!! So OLP's latest single has moved up on the chart. Thanks to Amrit
for the updates.

It could very well be that OLP will be doing a summer festival tour in Europe.
Not only are they rumoured to play at Pinkpop in Holland (June 7-9).
Ringrocker.com also
lists them as a potential act for Rock am Ring in Germany (which has the same
line-up as Rock im Park, because it's basically the same festival at a different
location). Thanks to Eelco for translating and forwarding the news.
AFJuliaFreak has heard through a friend (who spoke with Duncan and Steve after
the Rochester show) that OLP are taking this time before the European tour to
write and possibly record some new songs for their 6th CD. Thanks to AFJuliaFreak

Woo Hoo! Today is the Rochester concert, and
we are taking the trip! If you are a regular of olp.cc, take a minute and
write it on the back of your hand. This way if we see you, we can say hi.
:)
The concert at the Clark Gym in Rochester is now sold out. If you do not
yet have tickets, and plan on looking for anyone selling tickets at the school,
be careful as the following was posted on the RIT website, "Our Lady Peace
Ticket Warning The February 7 Our Lady Peace is now sold out. We remind everyone
that did not get tickets that major concerts are popular events and tend to sell
out fast. CAB would like to issue a warning to all students not to buy tickets
from other students. During the Hoobastank concert in October, several students
turned up with counterfeit tickets bought from other students on campus. These
people unfortunately lost their money and were not admitted to the concert. If
you have any questions about the authenticity of your tickets, bring them to the
CAB office between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no
refunds and no admission for counterfeit tickets, so be careful!"
Just in on the Our Lady Peace Newsletter:
Read this
article from the Halifax Herald.
Now that the Canadian tour is wrapped up, it's time to focus our attention on
the upcoming trip to Europe with Avril Lavigne. In his interview with the Sun,
Jeremy explained that because the band will be able to reach new fans, "it's the
best tour (he) can think of on earth." In anticipation of the band's visit, Sony
Music's UK site is running a
contest through which U.K. fans could win the band's entire back catalogue.
The site has also put up Rocksound's review of OLP's London Astoria show in
which the show is described as "one of the most atmospheric and intense sets the
Astoria has witnessed in a long time" and "the first triumph in a long line of
many."
And finally, to cap off this edition of the OLP newsletter, we have a piece of
info that should please our friends in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark,
Lithuania and Latvia: the "Innocent" video was added to MTV Nordic's rotation
this week!

Duncan was spotted on "Inside
Entertainment" yesterday. The interview featured took place in Calgary
and here are a few highlights from it:
-the reason that they chose to film the dvd in Calgary and in Edmonton was
because historically those cities' crowds are loud, they have a lot of fun
touring in Alberta, the cities are close to each other a both were available so
it made everything more convienent
-the band is looking forward to touring with fellow Canadian rocker Avril
Lavigne. He also added that she has a lot of talent, now the only thing is to
see if she can withstand the test of time
-the dvd and live cd will be released by the end of the year or early next year
-this summer the band will be working on their 6th cd with Bob Rock
Thanks to George and Amrit for the update.
George of Muchmusic has been on the road
with OLP and highlights have been shown of the tour on Much News. Here is what
was featured: they talked
with George about the live album and dvd, politics, and how awesome they
feel as a band and with their sound. They also talked about how writing
the new album with Steve will be amazing and will be like capturing the live
experience of the band on tape, and how the writing process will be different.
Jeremy said that they are amazed at the response and vibe they get from the
crowd and how they feed off of it. Thanks to Paul and Amrit for keeping us
informed.

According to Heidi, OLP unfortunately isn't that
popular in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Therefore, she was very surprised to
hear that OLP was featured on
91.1 KLSU's (the local
radio station for Louisiana State University) Mystery Machine Program that is on
every Saturday night. What they do is select an artist and play their music for
2 straight hours. They also had a trivia question, "What one thing linked the
front of the first four album covers?" So she called in and told the DJ
the answer (which is Sol Fox). Thanks to Heidi for keeping us informed.
If you are heading to the Connecticut show, you might be wondering who the
supporting act will be. According to Satzah and SKaTeRAFOLPgIrL, a local

It appears hockey teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs and Hamilton Bull Dogs
are utilizing "Innocent" well. As soon as the host team gets a penalty,
"Innocent" is cranked up to plead their case. Thanks to Dave and Rob for
the news.
Fellow fan and CC'er George, asked that we put this message out to fans in the
Alberta area ""hey, whats up?! My name is George and i'm a huge olp fan. i've
been trying to start up a clumsy congress in edmonton for a long time but its
kinda hard finding fans of the band, and it sucks cause my friends don't really
like them, so i want to meet more olp freaks :) i'm going to both shows in
alberta, so im thinking if any calgarians are interested in starting joint
congress, that would be totally awesome. if you're interested, you can catch me
at both shows in the front row, chances are that i'll be wearing this canada
hat, so you can't miss me cause im 6'2. i'll take your name and email at the
concert if you want and hopefully we can get enough people to have an "olp day"
like those ontarians got one going. if you want to get in contact with me right
away please
email me
or at the cc its level_off! see ya at the show, and party it up, its been 2
years since they came!!"

Last night on 104.9 XFM in
Vancouver, Our Lady Peace won for the 5th straight time with "Made of Steel" in
XFM's "Necessary Chaos". This is how it all works, the station plays 2 songs
against each other and people call in to vote on which song they think is
better. If the song wins five times in a row, it is retired as a winner and the
band receives a plaque from the radio station. Way to go OLP!!!!
Thanks to Brad for the update.
January 22, 2003 (Evening)
The details for the concert in Connecticut have now been released. They

This just in from emtee.org, "We got an update from the man himself. Mike Turner
has been dabbling in some producing with some artists in his home studio. He
also says that he has been writing recently with a very talented singer and we
imagine that he'll let us know when any recordings from this project will be
released. He says he still talks to Jamie and the two of them have made some
music together "just for fun". Thanks to
Emtee.org for the
news.
There is a strong possibility that Our Lady Peace's "Somewhere Out There" may be
featured on the
Smallville soundtrack in stores in February. Considering "Made of
Steel" is the next single, would it not be perfect for the Man of Steel himself
on Smallville? Who knows...maybe it will be featured on an upcoming
episode? Click
here to send a recommendation to play this song to the staff of Smallville.
January 21, 2003 (Evening)
Head over to MuchMusic

CFOX Vancouver do this thing called the Furious 5 at 5pm PT everyday. They have
an area on their site where you can choose songs to vote on. They have
"Innocent" listed in the drop down menu. Since OLP are playing Vancouver
this Saturday, let's see if we can all vote them into the
Furious 5
everyday this week! So, if you've got some extra time, let's do some voting!
Thanks to MattCTUSA for the news.
This just in from the OMA Mailing List: The next Our Lady Peace single will be
released in Canada next week. And it's (drumroll, please). "Made Of Steel"!!
It's our duty to support the campaign at radio by calling or e-mailing stations
to request the song. The direct phone calls carry the most weight, so if you
want to hear "Made Of Steel" it might be best to phone it in. There's a list of
targets on the
One Man Army site that you can use as your guide.
Further the recent news of the youngest OLP fan. Tony and Sarah from the
UK would like to report that their son Brandon, who is now 6 has been listening
to olp all his life. He has every cd, and he listens to them most nights
for an hour before he goes to sleep. Also, their daughter Tana, before she
could even talk properly, would sing the opening to "Somewhere Out There" (dee
de deee deee). She is now 20 mths and sits in front of the computer
watching the live footage on the DVD pointing and talking. When they try to turn
it off, she says "More, More"! Thanks for sharing this cute story!

Chris Benoit, who is one of the leading wrestlers right now, had a title match
last night. Even though he lost the match, he stood up and they played his
theme, "Whatever" by OLP, and the entire 18,000 crowd gave him a standing
ovation as he limped out of the ring to the dressing room with "Whatever"
playing very loudly. Thanks to George for the news.
It also appears that "Is Anybody Home?" was heard on
Muchmusic's broadcast of

in London, they are the first Canadian radio station to receive OLP's third
single, which they announced to be "Made of Steel," for air play. Thanks to
Amanda and Rob for keeping us informed.
OLP was on Global's show called "Bang TV" yesterday. Unfortunately, we missed it
and two fans that saw it only managed to catch the end of it. From what
they saw, "Not Enough" was playing in the background, while they were talking
about WWE wrestling and Raine was saying how he respected UFC (Ultimate Fighting
Championship) more, because he had taken karate in the past and he knows how
difficult it is to have such strong threshold of pain and to execute those
moves. If anyone knows of any repeat dates for this program,
let us
know. Thanks to Duke and Elsa for the update.
Yesterday, Raine was heard on 'The Canadian Hot 20'
broadcast on Hot 105 in Thunder Bay and Mix 96
in Montreal, to name a few radio stations. He was talking about the
upcoming tour and War Child. Thanks to Nadine and Chri for the info.
On MTV's new show "MADE," they
were creating the band The Sly Caps and during a gig, the background music was
'Is Anybody Home?'." Thanks to Joanne and Rainejunkie for the heads up.

Brad.
Proud father, and fellow fan Donnie wanted us to share a short story
of Our Lady Peace's youngest fan, "I recorded the MTV OLP at the rock hall on
vhs and I occasionally watch it. One day I had my three year old son Jagger-Paul
over and he was watching it with me. All of a sudden he started jumping about
and having a great time. I told him who it was and he tried in that cute toddler
way to mutter Our Lady Peace. It came out sounding something like "Oura D
Peace." Hours later that day we had watched the tape about 8 or 9 times, each
time my son watching with great enthusiasm and dancing. His mother and I now
have to exchange the tape everytime we exchange our son. That vhs tape has
become his favorite thing and he is constantly asking about OLP. Today we were
watching it and when "naveed," came to the part when Raine starts singing "its
gone....its gone" Jagger got up and ran around the house singing "its gone..."
right along with Raine. So I thought that maybe Jagger could be Our Lady Peace's
youngest fan. Its just the cutest thing and I am a very proud father."
Thanks for sharing Donnie, you should be proud!

Some key comments made by Raine on yesterday's interview on Vancouver's
CFox were that they are possibly going into
the studio in the summer....and that some of the new material is pretty damn
exciting. And that the Avril Lavigne tour is for reaching fans who they
think might not normally like OLP. After the interview, they played Made
of Steel. Thanks to Duke for letting us know that the post by Chiggs was
on the CC.
