details), he is now on tour opening up for his wife, Chantal Kreviazuk and he
has a new
website!
If you plan on sitting at your computer tonight
around 9pm... then you really need to check out Mike Turner (Ex-OLP) and Pete
Lesperance (Harem Scarem) from Fair Ground live on
CFOX, in Vancouver (Between
6-7 pm local in Van) where they are going to play some acoustic stuff/interview.
Thanks to Laurie for making us aware of this!

Just in from Mike Turner:
"Hey all!
We’ve just confirmed that Pete and I will be out west for a few days and not all
of our time is spoken for. Here’s what we’re thinking. We should get together
with YOU! We’re in Vancouver on the 19th and 20th, Calgary on the 22nd, Edmonton
on the 23rd and Winnipeg on the 24th. Is there a cool event on the night we’re
in your town that you need to let us know about ? Maybe just a good spot to hang
out? I think we’ve got something happening in Winnipeg, so just let us know if
you’d like to attend that one.
We’ll be doing some acoustic stuff while we’re at the radio stations so maybe we
bring the guitars and we’ll have a campfire singalong! Drop us a line at the
Fair Ground myspace with where you’re from and what you’re thinking and we’ll try
to organize the other cities. Keep checking our page and we’ll let you know
what’s what.
Namaste,
Mike"

"Kiss on the Mouth" is #14 on
Radio and Records Canada Rock Chart. Thanks to Duke for the link.
Our friend, Duke was searching around the net and found this cover for "A
Decade" on
VH1, Could this be the cover for the CD in the USA
or just an alternative cover for the CD or a cover for the first single, "A Kiss
on the Mouth?" Guess we will have to wait and see. Thanks
again to Duke for keeping us updated.

Thanks to those of you who sent supportive emails, we really appreciate your
loyalty to the band and the site. Hopefully the following will clear up
any misunderstandings from yesterday.
In response to yesterday's comment that we wrote about Raine's quote in an
article, Raine has posted the following blog on his
Myspace:
for the fans by the fans?
Fan site's such as ourladypeace.cc are incredible organic phenomenons. they are
constructed and run independently from the artists and record labels and have an
innate ability to grow and nurture a loyal and passionate community of people. i
have always veiwed these sites as for the fans by the fans. We have done our
best to support the people running them as well as the fans participating
through soundcheck parties, aftershow meet and greets and a host of other
displays of appreciation.
i recently had a quote taken out of context from an interview that made it seem
like i was unappreciative of these fan sites.let me make this perfectly clear;
nothing could be further from the truth. although i choose to remain very much
in the background i am honoured and grateful that we have such a loyal following
and a motivated group of people willing to dedicate their time and energy to OLP.
the information on these sites is usually more accurate and up to date than the
offical OLP sites. the accusation of me not caring about them is inaccurate.
it is disappointing to have 10 years of of hard work and dedication to our fans
seemingly erased by a simple misquote from one interview. i would hope i've
earned your benefit of the doubt in situations such as this.
sincerely ,
Raine Maida
Further that, we have responded with this:
We are sorry, and very embarrassed for misinterpreting the quote from the
article, we should have known better. We acted on our emotions, instead of using
our heads.
It is ironic that your comment explained how you don't want to get caught up in
the media, and we did just that. For that we are very sorry.
It should be noted that after we posted our thoughts on our website, we received
several kind emails from fans showing their appreciation for the site, and that
we shouldn't take it personally. Comments like theirs, and this post from you,
are what keep us going. Thank you for everything.
Peace,
Rich & Shelley
October 2, 2006 (Evening)
Next year will mark
10 years since we started olp.cc, and we have to say the journey has been
amazing. The largest gain would have to be all the lifetime friendships we have
made along the way.
Although we do host just
a 'fansite', we feel it contributes just that little bit to make a difference.
Watching the band go from weekdays at local bars, to filling festivals, has been
like witnessing your child hit their first homerun.
Then we read the following comment that Raine made in a recent interview: "I've
never been on an OLP site or read an (OLP) newsletter or the fan sites. I've
always stayed away from that, but I want to put some of this stuff up and see
what people think. It's a work in progress." We realize his reasoning is that he
doesn't like to get caught up with the media, however we must say it still hurts
to know that 10 years of hard work has gone unnoticed by the lead singer.
